Sexual Intimacy During Pregnancy

Sexual Intimacy During PregnancyIf you’re pregnant, you know that sex is not necessarily at the top of your to-do list.  Especially if you’re well into your pregnancy. While some of you lucky girls may be even more “in the mood” while you are pregnant, many others are not so lucky.

During my pregnancy, I could barely even look at my husband. Sex was just NOT an option. I wanted nothing to do with him. We tried once (because I felt a little sorry for the poor guy), but it was a disaster. There’s just something not quite right about having sex with a beach ball between you. The logistics can get a little sticky.

So what are you supposed to do? How do you keep the intimacy going without giving your poor guy 9 months of “blue-balls”?

One thing that “did it” for me, were toys. They do the job every time, and you don’t have the issue of figuring out what position to be in so that your tummy doesn’t bounce around more than you do. Try Doc Johnson The Original Pocket Rocket 4-Inch Ivory Vibrator$12.29 + shipping. It does a lovely job. Or, if you need a bit “more”, try California Exotics Waterproof Jack Rabbit $24.51 + shipping. Both from Amazon.com. And you get the added benefit of having it delivered in an Amazon.com box instead of a box with the name of some sex store plastered all over it! It’s a bit more discrete to say the least.

Oral sex is also a great option. You tend to be a bit more sensitive “down there” while you are pregnant, so oral sex is incredible! Plus, it’s a great way to keep your Honey happy to. I found that a guy is willing to get into just about any position that makes you comfortable if he gets a blow job out of the deal.

You can always try being “on top”, but I found that it was to much weight on my belly when I really “got going”. So that never lasted long either.

The truth is, if you really want to get off, there are plenty of ways to do it. You just have to be sure that whatever you try, your partner is included. This will keep the sexual intimacy going, and allow you to be comfortable as well. And if you both get really, really desperate, you’ve always got all your fingers and toes. Get creative!

One side note here:My husband was worried that after I had the baby, sex would be like “throwing a hot dog down a hallway”. If this is your guy’s concern, reassure him that that just is not the case. Given enough time to heal, we “bounce back” to your usual selves pretty well. Just remember to do your Kegels!
