When Should You Sleep With Him?

When should you sleep with him?We all know, no matter how much we hate games, you just can’t get away from them when you are dating.

First there’s that silly rule about the guy waiting 3 days to call you after a date ( I never did understand that one, by the 3rd day, I always assumed I wouldn’t hear from him again and was ready to move on).

Then, there’s all those rules that seem to change from woman to woman. Do you kiss on the first date or just hug? Does he pay for dinner, or should you pay your share? Should you sleep with him on the first date, or wait it out? The list of questions (and games) is endless.

There’s no one method to dating, so it’s no wonder everyone is so confused. And if you ask 10 different friends for advice, you’ll get 10 different opinions. So what’s a girl to do?

Well, I should mention that I’m all about having some self respect and integrity in a world that is sorely lacking both. So my advice may be a bit slanted.

But here’s the thing. Yes, he may be hot, and yes, you  may really really want to do him *now*. But ask yourself this. Do you want to do him now and never again, or wait it out, and end up with him multiple times?

The truth is, boys will be boys. If they get to open the present before the holiday, they’ll only want new toys when the holiday arrives. Does that make sense? While I would never lump all males into one category, I think it’s safe to say that most men won’t be calling you again if you have sex with them on the first date unless the sex was so unbelievable that they want a booty-call from time to time.

So I guess it all comes down to what you want for yourself and your life. If casual sex without commitment is for you, then go for it! Do him every which way from Sunday. Just don’t expect a call the next day, or week, or month. If you’re looking for commitment, wait it out. You’ll respect yourself and him so much more when it does happen.

My personal rule of thumb: never before the 4th date.
